People will be able to bring Spike Spiegel’s ship home again. Good Smile Company will rerelease its Cowboy Bebop Swordfish II model. It will show up in Japan in December 2022. However, the English product page notes a February 2022 release window for North America. (It first appeared in December 2019.) It will cost $395.99/¥39,600.
This version of the Swordfish is a 1/48th model. That means it will be over a foot long and just under a foot wide. The cockpit has a small Spike piloting the craft. There are multiple articulated parts. For example, the wings can fold and the landing gear can be deployed. There are alloy parts for the landing gear as well. In addition to the cockpit being able to be removed, you can also open the maintenance hatches. You can also install a battery to have it light up.
Here’s a closer look at Good Smile Company’s Cowboy Bebop Swordfish II model. Some of the images also show what the LED lights will look like when on. They appear as an engine light and headlights.
This comes right as the live-action version of Cowboy Bebop is about to appear. That will air on Netflix on November 19, 2021. The original anime series is also now streaming on that service.
Pre-orders are open for the Cowboy Bebop Swordfish II model until January 5, 2022. It will ship in Japan in December 2022 and North America in February 2022. A special website for it is also now open.
