These returning Pokemon are from all previous regions, such as Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Unova, Alola, and Galar.

According to dataminers, the 25 Legendaries will be special encounters in the game and will not be connected to 7-star raids. However, the DLC will also feature a handful of new Legendary Pokemon making their debut as well, such as Paradox Iron Crown, Raging Bolt, and Indigo Disk mascot Terapagos.

How to catch Legendary Pokemon in the DLC

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC, it’s rumored that you will use a vending machine to trigger encounters with Legendaries. Like Ramanas Park in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, players must obtain a specific item connected to each Legendary to spawn them.

While the vending machine mechanic still isn’t entirely clear, theories about it are tied to the datamine leak from the Teal Mask patch update. In the patch, dataminers discovered 25 unique items that each referenced a specific Legendary Pokemon. Several prominent Pokemon leakers have also teased a potential vending machine-like mechanic. Regardless of what it ends up being, we know the 25 returning Legendary Pokemon will not be in raids and will be special encounters triggered by items.

Can Legendary Pokemon be Shiny in the DLC?

At the time of writing, there has been no confirmation as to whether the 25 Legendary Pokemon can be Shiny hunted in the Indigo Disk DLC. Most fans believe Shiny Legendaries will make their return, given they were available in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra DLC mode Dynamax Adventures. However, this is not guaranteed.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC will be available on Nintendo Switch on December 14, 2023.
