Alhaitham and Yaoyao Teased as Next Playable Genshin Impact Characters

At The Game Awards 2022, a Genshin Impact ad appeared. It showed multiple people, then closed with a first peek at Yaoyao in-game. After the event, the official social media accounts shared more details about the upcoming Genshin Impact playable Dendro characters Yaoyao and Alhaitham.

Alhaitham is a familiar face in Genshin Impact, provided players kept up with the Sumeru Archon quests. He’s the Akademiya scribe. He’s a Dendro unit, with character noted as Admonishing Instruction. Throughout the story, we’ve seen him fight with a sword. His Constellation is also called Vultur Volans.

Yaoyao is considered the Disciple of Streetward Rambler, as she follows alongside and learns from Madame Ping in Genshin Impact. While people haven’t met her in-game yet, Madame Ping comes up during an array of quests in Liyue, such as the one involving Serenitea Pot acquisition. The rabbit she carries is the Adepti treasure Yuegui, which was made and given to her by Cloud Retainer. Her details also refer to her as Burgeoning Grace, and her Constellation is Osmanthus. Her weapon hasn’t been revealed yet.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the two new playable characters who debuted in 3.3 are The Wanderer (Scaramouche) and Faruzan.
