The video shows the major graphics update in comparison to the 2011 PlayStation portable game Akiba’s Trip. The characters have been designed to look closer to how the original artists envisioned them in their illustrations, and people’s clothing will also look more detailed in the HD remaster. The game will also offer new features such as collectible tin badges that will be integrated with trophies in the PS4 version.
The game’s standard and digital versions will cost 4,800 yen (~$46) plus tax in Japan. A limited 10th Anniversary Edition will be available for 7,980 yen (~$77) plus tax. As previously detailed, it will include a 40-page, full-color art book and a reprint of a 132-page unbranded guidebook. It will also include a two-disc original soundtrack.
Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed will release for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on May 20, 2021. The game is in development for the PS4 and PC for the West. XSEED announced the remaster’s Western localization for the PS4 and PC in September 2019.
