Last year, Square Enix announced a 3D remake of Final Fantasy Adventure, which was originally released in 1991 on the Game Boy as Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden. An English website has just opened for the game, confirming a localization as Adventures of Mana.
However, the English version of the game will be limited to Apple iOS and Android devices. The PlayStation Vita version of the game will remain in Japan.
In Adventures of Mana, players follow a hero who was captured while attempting to defeat the Dark Lord. He escapes and joins forces with a heroine. They learn the Dark Lord is attempting to seek control of the Mana Tree. What follows is an action-RPG with a top-down perspective. The Mana series Ring Command system returns for the switching weapons and abilities. Also, as in the original games, guest characters will join your party, controlled by AI.
Release dates for Adventures of Mana have not been announced. Square Enix’s last update said that the game will come to the PlayStation Vita, Apple iOS devices, and Android devices in Japan this winter. This is the third remake of Adventures of Mana, as it also appeared on the Game Boy Advance as Sword of Mana.
