Indie action-RPG Anima: Gate of Memories is nearing the release of its next alpha, which will be sent out to the game’s Kickstarter backers in the coming days. In the meantime, the development team has shared a look at how cutscenes will play out, using a sample cutscene to illustrate how they’re managing their limited budget.
“Of course, we totally agree that full animated cutscenes would be nicer, but with our limited team, we prefer to focus all out resources in making the gameplay better and the world richer,” the team writes in its latest update.
On that note, alongside the cutscene, the team also released a batch of new screenshots to show off how the actual game is coming along, and it does look rather pretty. The lighting in particular is quite nice, and they’re making good use of colour, too. You can view the screens below.
