Hidetaka “Swery65” Suehiro and White Owls’ The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is the studio’s first game, and a Q&A video has been released with Swery65 going over some interesting facts about the adventure and puzzle game. For example, White Owls is a twelve-person studio, and The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories was made by about nine of them.
In addition to information about White Owls, Swery65 talks a lot about The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories in the almost six and a half minute video. He begins by going over the premise, where J.J. needs to physically hurt herself or use parts of her body to complete puzzles and advance, but does not need to worry about dying on Memoria Island. He also notes that between Deadly Premonition, D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die, and The Missing, he has only been able to release a game once every four years.
The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 11, 2018. (Though, if you are on Pacific Time, you can get it on October 10, 2018.)
