Aardman Animation announced that it is working with The Pokemon Company International on a new Pokemon-related project. There’s no exact release date yet, but the current launch window for it is 2027.Â
The Aardman Animation announcement didn’t offer any details about what to expect from the Pokemon project it is working on. It only noted that it will tell a story involving the characters in their artistic and storytelling style. The studio’s most recent films are Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, both of which released in 2024. It is also known for the Shaun the Sheep series. It’s also worked on games, as it was involved with the creation of both Wallace & Gromit: The Big Fix Up and Wallace & Gromit in The Grand Getaway.
There was another stop-motion Pokemon animation that released not that long ago. Netflix, Dwarf Studios, and The Pokemon Company International worked together to make Pokemon Concierge. That was a show about a young woman and her Psyduck companion who works at a resort to help the creatures relax and enjoy themselves. There is one season with four episodes on the streaming service now, but a second one is in development. Netflix confirmed more is on the way in February 2024.
The Aardman Animation and Pokemon project will appear in 2027.
