A24 and Kojima Productions announced their plans to adapt Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding into a live-action movie. A24 is best known for its highly-acclaimed films like Everything Everywhere All At Once, Moonlight, Uncut Gems, Hereditary, and Lady Bird.
The original video game features famous Hollywood actors like Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Lea Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Lindsey Wagner. There are currently no announcements regarding the cast for the Death Stranding live-action film adaption. No other information was revealed about the upcoming film adaption of the video game by Hideo Kojima.
To commemorate the announcement of the live-action feature film, A24 has released a special shirt with A24’s logo specially woven into the style of Death Stranding‘s logo. The shirt comes in sizes Small to 2XL and costs $40 USD. The shirt is currently sold out on the A24 Shop due to popular demand following the film adaption’s announcement.

The announcement of the Death Stranding live-action movie adaption coincides with Kojima Production’s eighth anniversary which happens on December 16, 2023. The companies stated in the announcement that the film will delve into the mysteries surrounding the event of “Death Stranding”, an apocalyptic event that drew horrifying monsters into the world and created a bridge between life and death.
Kojima Productions also revealed in the announcement that over 16 million people across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, PlayStation Plus, and PC Game Pass have played the video game since its launch in 2019.
Death Stranding 2 was announced at The Game Awards 2022, which will feature familiar faces from the first game including Norman Reedus’ Sam Porter, Lea Seydoux’s Fragile, and Troy Baker’s Higgs. The first game is currently available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
