Two weeks ago I was walking around with a friend in Hong Kong who has a DS, but didn’t care for the plain look. I met up with her in Mong Kok, a major shopping district, to check out clothes, a place that actually carries Oshiri Kajiri Mushi no Rhythm Lesson DS (got it!) and a shop that sells Nintendo DS decals.
I thought I was going to see a bunch of Mario stickers. Instead I saw two binders worth of art and textures to physically skin a Nintendo DS Lite. A small selection of the decals can be seen in the photo, but the best pieces of abstract art aren’t there.
After scanning the choices she opted for one of the pieces of abstract art, which was printed on the fly. Thirty minutes later we went back to the shop and they were using a hair dryer to shrink wrap the decal on her DS Lite.
Here’s the final product… sort of. The decal covers the back of the DS, the GBA slot cover and the tip of the stylus too. Pretty through!
