The “cuter” take on Kojima Productions’ Ludens mascot is getting a second model kit. Kotobukiya confirmed a new variant of the figure. People will be able to pick up the Kojima Productions Ludens model kit in black in January 2021. It will cost $69.99.
As this is a palette swap kit, people can expect all of the parts from the original white-suit Ludens model kit. She still has neutral, smiling, and scowling faces, though her eyes are green in this kit instead of orange. Her hair is still blond, but her skin is paler this time around. Also, her armor is black, grey, and orange instead of white, grey and orange. The flag still has black and blue variants. She is compatible with Kotobukiya Frame Arms Girls line, which means you could use their weapons with her.
Here’s the new Ludens in different poses.
As before, there’s a bit of Metal Gear history here. Yoji Shinkawa is the artist behind the Kotobukiya Ludens model kit’s design. While he’s also worked on the Frame Arms Girl kit Byakko, he’s also worked closely with Kojima on games like Policenauts, Metal Gear Solid, and even Death Stranding as a character designer and art director.
The Kojima Productions Ludens model kit variant will be released in January 2021.
