The indie title Lethal Company from developer Zeekerss has quickly skyrocketed in popularity. With its gameplay centered around a spaceship crew similar to Innersloth’s Among Us, many players may wonder whether they can play Lethal Company solo.
Can you play Lethal Company Solo?
While many players have praised the game for its cooperative elements and use of voice chat, other users may be curious if they tackle the game alone. The short answer is yes, it is entirely possible to play Lethal Company solo. Players receive a more traditional horror experience when going solo through the derelict facility.
However, because Lethal Company was designed from the ground up as a multiplayer game, going single-player is ill-advised. In Lethal Company, players scavenge a quota they must meet by the deadline, with failure resulting in a game over. However, Lethal Company will not reduce the quota if there are fewer players, meaning you will instead have to do four times as much work!
Additionally, several challenges become much harder without other players. For example, one enemy, the Coil-Head, will stop moving when players look at it. Yet another foe, The Snare Flea, will cling onto players’ heads and can be removed by another crew member striking it with a shovel. While it is theoretically possible, only players looking for the ultimate challenge in Lethal Company should go solo.
How to use Single-Player in Lethal Company?
There are two ways of playing Lethal Company solo, LAN and Private Online. For launching on LAN (Local Area Network), this will make your server only accessible to those in your area, making it especially easy to go solo.
On the other hand, if you wish to stay online, you can choose to host a server on private/friends-only. This will make it so that players must receive an invite to join your server. Lastly, as Lethal Company is still in early access, there might be an update to single-player modes in the future.
Lethal Company is now available on Windows PC.
