As of Version 1.5, World 8 is now available to play in Honkai: Star Rail Simulated Universe. Completing it on each difficulty will not only give rewards such as Stellar Jades, but it will also give the chance to obtain some new Planar Ornaments.
Which Enemies are in Simulated Universe World 8 in Honkai: Star Rail?
The majority of these enemies (including Yanqing, the final boss) are weak to Wind, Imaginary, and Lightning damage. So when you’re choosing your characters, you should try to prioritize teams that have characters with those elements. Of course, if you have Silver Wolf, you can also get away with simply Implanting whatever Weakness your team can hit.
Here are some of the bosses that you’ll encounter on the way through the Simulated Universe:
- Aurumaton Gatekeeper
- Aurumaton Spectral Envoy
- Decaying Shadow
- Senior Staff: Team Leader
- Voidranger: Tramper (Bug)
Which path should you choose in World 8?
There are several Paths that can benefit you depending on your play style. Choose the Path that best works for your team, as well as what you personally prefer to do. In general, you should try and think on what Path you want to take in your battle against Yanqing, since you should be able to use any Path to handle the fodder on the way to him.
- Propagation
If you have Propagation from Swarm Disaster, this is a really good Path to take, specifically if you plan on using Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae. He is the character who, as of the time of writing, benefits the most from the Basic ATK-oriented Propagation Path. - The Hunt
This is a good Path to take to give your team more turns (if you’re too slow, Yanqing and his Flying Swords can be really annoying), and the Resonance is good for destroying all of the Flying Swords as well. - Remembrance
Remembrance is a good Path even if you don’t have an Ice character so long as you can get the Blessings that’ll help you to Freeze enemies. Freezing Yanqing and his Flying Swords is a good way to stop him from being annoying with them.
Which character should I use in Honkai: Star Rail Simulated Universe World 8?
- Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae
You should use him with the Propagation or Hunt Path. Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is one of the best DPS characters to use in World 8 just because almost everybody is weak to Imaginary. - Welt
Like Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Welt is a good Imaginary attacker who would benefit from a Mono-Imaginary team. His downside is that he’s not technically speaking a DPS character so he might need to rely on supports a bit more. - Blade
Blade is a great Wind DPS. Instead of using Hunt with him, you can also try using Destruction to increase his DMG. - Dan Heng
Honestly, Dan Heng is a good DPS to use as well if you’re F2P. He is a single target one, so it’s best to run him with someone who can either deal AoE damage or someone who can help him to get more turns. - Kafka
Kafka is a Lightning DPS who specializes in DoT damage. Luckily, the majority of good DoT applicators who work well with Kafka are also either Lightning or Wind. - Sampo
You should run Sampo either with Kafka or with plenty of Nihility Blessings. I do not really recommend Sampo unless you are going to use him with Kafka because on his own, he might not be able to hit as hard. Granted, since there is no time limit in Simulated Universe like there is in Memory of Chaos, you can take as much time as you need to clear content. - Serval
Serval is in the same boat as Sampo above. She’s a decent damage dealer on her own but she truly shines with her DoT application. I also do not really recommend using Serval as your sole DPS unless you have a really strong one. You should run her with Kafka if you can. - Jing Yuan
Jing Yuan is a solid damage dealer whose AoE Lightning attacks can help you to deal with Yanqing’s Flying Swords. He’s more useful with his Eidolons, but he’s still reasonably strong even at E0. - Bronya
Bronya is a fantastic support if you have her because not only can she give your character an additional turn, but she can also increase the DMG output with both her Skill and Ultimate. You can use her with any attacker, and she fits in any party. - Fu Xuan
While Fu Xuan does not fit into the Wind, Lightning, or Imaginary Weakness for World 8, she is a good shielder who can help protect your team with her Skill. Another good shielder you can bring is Gepard. Yanqing’s Flying Swords, as well as Aethereal Dreamflux, can be annoying to deal with if your party is not fast enough. So a shielder will mitigate the damage until your healer can do their job. - Tingyun
Tingyun, like Bronya, is a fantastic and generic support for your party. She can not only boost ATK, but she can also help to regenerate Energy. She is also very SP-positive, since once she uses her Skill, she can spend a few turns using her Basic Attack instead. - Silver Wolf
Silver Wolf is a good support for her ability to debuff the enemy, as well as plant a Weakness. I do not recommend using Silver Wolf so that you can run a mono element team that isn’t Lightning, Fire, or Imaginary. This is specifically because of Yanqing’s Flying Swords, which you want to clear before he can use Aetheral Dreamflux in Phase 3. Silver Wolf on her own will not be fast enough to destroy them all, so you should use her as a debuffer on a team that can naturally hit Yanqing’s Weaknesses. - Huohuo
Huohuo is a good Wind Abundance unit who can passively heal the party. She can also cleanse at the same time, which is good because there’s a chance that Yanqing can Freeze your character. With Huohuo, her Talent can cleanse at the start of a character’s turn, letting them move even if Yanqing froze them. - Luocha
Luocha is one of the best Abundance units in the game. He can fit into any party and can help with general survivability.
How to defeat Yanqing
Yanqing appeared multiple times throughout Honkai: Star Rail at this point, with World 8 being the level where you can most consistently fight him. He has two main gimmicks: Flying Swords and Aethereal Dreamflux. His Flying Swords disable his weaknesses until you destroy them all. They’re weak to Lightning, Wind, or Imaginary, and you have to sort of guess at it. If you have Silver Wolf, she can destroy a sword with her Skill so long as your team has one of those three elements.
In Phase 3, Yanqing will use Aethereal Dreamflux, which is a powerful single-target Ice attack. It’s stronger the more Flying Swords there are on the field. So in order to stop him from doing so, you must destroy his Flying Swords within two turns. Fortunately, even if you don’t destroy them all, it still has the benefit of softening Aethereal Dreamflux’s blow.
What rewards can you get from World 8?
For starters, the two Planar Ornaments that you can obtain from World 8 are Firmament Frontline: Glamoth and Penacony, Land of the Dreams. Glamoth will increase the user’s ATK, as well as let them deal more DMG depending on their SPD. The Penacony Set will increase Energy Regeneration, as well as increase the DMG of all allies that are the same element as the wearer. These are both fairly useful sets, with Glamoth being a more generically useful one. Penacony would fare well on support or healers in a mono-element team.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. World 8 in Simulated Universe is a permanent feature of the game as of Version 1.5.
