How to Beat Yoshiki in Persona 5 Tactica

The second kingdom in Persona 5 Tactica involves a much longer boss fight than Marie. However, here are a few tips to endure the marathon and beat Yoshiki in Persona 5 Tactica.

How do I defeat Yoshiki in Persona 5 Tactica

You’ll want to focus on bringing a team with high movement and high gun skills to increase your range for this fight. Yusuke’s Auto-Masukukaja support skill and gun damage party buff are invaluable here. Unlike Marie, you do have other enemies to deal with besides Yoshiki during the fight. However, they are there primarily to block your progress and don’t pose a significant threat.

To beat Yoshiki in Persona 5 Tactica, you have to navigate the stage using elevators and defeat or avoid enemies to reach him and damage him with a gun attack. There are no secondary objectives or time limits during the fight, so you can take your time.

Aside from the regular enemies, Yoshiki has two ranged attacks that both take two turns to pull off. He telegraphs the first with yellow danger tiles on the floor, so avoid these and you’ll be safe. The second, however, puts a crosshair on a member of the party. The next turn, this party member will get hit and blown backwards by a ranged attack, even if they are in cover. Be sure to heal up any party members marked by this crosshair before the attack.

Yoshiki’s boss fight takes place over three phases. Reaching the end of the map and hitting Yoshiki once ends the phase and starts the next one with a new map layout. You do not need to defeat any enemies on the map this time, as you only need to reach and damage Yoshiki.

The first phase is straightforward. You use elevators to “break through the barricade” and get to Yoshiki. Raising an elevator will lower others, but it’s not too complex to figure out how to proceed in this section. Only one party member has to make it to Yoshiki, so the others can freely raise and lower elevators for them.

Hitting Yoshiki one time starts the second phase. This time, Yoshiki’s cameras are part of the map. Crossing the yellow tiles they create causes enemy reinforcements to appear. Yoshiki will also blast anyone who crosses them backwards. You just have to go around them, it’s not too difficult to navigate. Just be cautious and move forward, and remember only one person needs to make it to the boss.

The third and final phase starts out completely overwhelming. There will be tons of cameras, every enemy type is on the map, and Yoshiki is very far away. However, after one turn the cavalry arrives! The resistance destroys the cameras and gives you a straight shot at Yoshiki! Now, there are still a solid amount of enemies, but I really suggest just navigating around them staying in cover.

After a very long battle, once your character reaches Yoshiki one last time it’s over. Enjoy the lengthy cutscenes as you move onto the next kingdom!
