My Time at Sandrock tip 1: Make sure to socialize with everyone

The heart of the gameplay in My Time at Sandrock involves the relationships. It’s easy to get caught up in building and forget to talk to the town. Make sure you’re getting in some face time with the people of Sandrock. This can get you items, EXP, and perks. For example, I suggest befriending shopkeepers right away, for a chance at discounts at stores.

My Time at Sandrock tip 2: Make yourself a weapon

While the early game doesn’t have a lot of aggressive monsters chasing you around, I find it still is nice to be able to defend yourself. At your worktable, you can craft a handful of weapons to do the job.

Even some early monsters, like the Bumble Ant and Rocket Rooster, do drop some great resources! The EXP gain is nothing to scoff at too, so may as well hunt a few monsters once you have a weapon.

My Time at Sandrock tip 3: Don’t forget to check for commissions

Like most games, money and EXP are crucial in My Time and Sandrock. One of the easiest ways to get both is to make commissions for town members. There’s a commission board that you should check often in the Sandrock Commerce Guild right next to the entrance.

You should always be taking at least one. Many commissions are short, but can net you hundreds of gol!

My Time at Sandrock tip 4: Keep an eye on your water supply

Given the setting in My Time at Sandrock, water is a vital resource and you’ll need to know how to get some when getting started. Unlike other games where gathering water may be a simple as heading to the lake, in Sandrock water is not as readily available.

Luckily, you don’t need to drink it as a gameplay mechanic, but it does run your building equipment. Therefore, you’ll need to buy water or craft it from dew to keep your machines running.

My Time at Sandrock tip 5: Get to bed on time

One of the tips you might not think of initially in My Time at Sandrock is getting a good night’s sleep. In this game, that actually does matter! If you go to bed later than midnight (00:00) your character will wake up the next day more tired even having dark circles under their eyes.

This isn’t just cosmetic, it affects gameplay too. Well-rested characters gain a 10% EXP bonus in addition to one other random buff. This means you’ll want to get to bed on time every night to reap these benefits. 10% extra EXP adds up fast.

Hopefully, this guide will help you get started in My Time at Sandrock. Before long you’ll be an expert builder!

My Time at Sandrock will release November 2, 2023. It will be available in both physical and digital formats for the PS5, Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
