What is the shotgun code in Alan Wake 2

During the opening chapters of the game, Saga Anderson can visit the abandoned General Store at Cauldron Lake. After entering the right side of the building, a Tree cultist will burst through the wall and attack you. You must dispatch the enemy by focusing your flashlight on the enemy.

Once you have taken down the enemy, you will find a gun cabinet on the wall to the right of the encounter. Unfortunately, the shotgun is locked behind the glass with a combination lock pad. A sticky note underneath hints that the combination code is “with Lady Fortuna at the Counter.”

If you don’t want to take the time to track down the solution to the puzzle, I’ll just cut to the chase and give it to you now! The General Store shotgun lock code is 739 in Alan Wake 2. If you know the combination, you can immediately enter it into the lock and gain access to the shotgun. However, if you want to know how to find the code, keep reading below.

Where to find the shotgun code in Alan Wake 2

As the sticky note teases, the shotgun cabinet’s combination is located at the front counter of the General Store at Cauldron Lake in Alan Wake 2. Specifically, you must find the lottery ticket and the notepad full of numbers near the register.

The solution to the shotgun puzzle is the lottery ticket itself. The code is derived from the numbers scratched off on the notepad in combination with the lottery numbers. This is what the sticky note meant by “Check with Lady Fortuna.”

As mentioned earlier, you can technically just enter the code if you already know it. However, it’s still neat to see the lengths Remedy went to create this puzzle. The shotgun is worth picking up, as it’s easily the best weapon in the first half of the Alan Wake 2.

Alan Wake 2 is now available on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
