The new release will come out in Japan and is only available in Japanese. The original eight units from The Idolm@ster Shiny Colors will all return to Song for Prism. It will also use 3D sprites for the live concerts and the story parts.

The game will be split into two distinct parts. During the raising sim part, you can improve the different parameters for the idols and your relationship with them through work and lessons. Afterward, you can play a rhythm game during the live concert section of the game.
