Baldur’s Gate 3 Sorlock Warlock Build Guide

One of the best parts of Baldur’s Gate 3 is mixing together two different classes to make a character wholly unique to you. Enter the Sorlock, which is a build that mixes the Warlock and Sorcerer classes together (hence the name) to make an ultimate spellcaster class that will dominate the battlefields from afar.

How to Make the Sorlock Warlock Baldur’s Gate 3 Build

There are countless ways to make a Sorlock build in Baldur’s Gate 3, but it all starts from the character creator screen. Which class do you pick first, and what race do you go with? There are a variety of options for this character, but I personally recommend focusing more on the Warlock aspects, as it is the core part of this multiclass build. However, you can also focus more on the Sorcerer elements if you want.

Here is my recommended Sorlock build from start to finish:

  • Character Race: Any since there are little changes. However, I recommend races like Elf, Half-Elf, Halfling, Tiefling, Human, Dwarf, and Drow.
  • Background: Any, but I recommend Acolyte, Charlatan, Entertainer, Noble, Outlander, Sage, and Urchin for roleplay purposes.
  • Attributes Focus: Charisma and Constitution (maybe Charisma and Wisdom if you wish but I prefer Constitution)
  • Weapon: Light Crossbow or Staff
  • Level 1 Class: Preferably Warlock with any of the three subclasses (I prefer The Fiend). Initial spells are up to you. Pick whichever you prefer.
  • Level 2: Warlock level two. Pick two Eldritch Invocations. I prefer Beast Speech and Repelling Blast. However, Agonizing Blast, One with Shadows, Minions of Chaos, Whispers of the Grave, and Lifedrinker are also good.
  • Level 3: Sorcerer level one. Begin your multiclass. Pick one of the three subclasses. All three are great, but I highly recommend Draconic Sorcerer.
  • Level 4: Warlock level three. Pick a Pact. I prefer Pact of the Chain, but Pact of the Tome is good as well.
  • Level 5: Sorcerer level two.
  • Level 6: Sorcerer level three.
  • Level 7: Warlock level four.
  • Level 8: Sorcerer level four.
  • Level 9: Warlock level five.
  • Level 10: Warlock level six.
  • Level 11: Warlock level seven.
  • Level 12: Warlock level eight.

This is my preferred Sorlock build if you want a heavier emphasis on Warlock. If you want to focus more on Sorcerer, swap the two levels or opt for six levels of each, which is also a valid way to build this multiclass character.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PS5 and PC. An Xbox Series X/S version is scheduled to release sometime in 2023.
