How to Get the Thermal Katana (Errata) in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

In Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, CD Projekt Red dropped a ton of new items and weapons for players to find in the base game and Phantom Liberty expansion, including the new thermal katana weapon. Also known as the Errata, this is one of the flashiest and best weapons you can find in the massive new update. It is also one of the best melee weapons in the whole game.

How to Get the Thermal Katana in Cyberpunk 2077

There are two main ways to get the thermal katana in Cyberpunk 2077, and it depends on how you want to go about it and if you have the Phantom Liberty DLC or not. The first method is quite straightforward but it requires you to have Phantom Liberty and a whole lot of cash on your character.

Within the new area of Dogtown in the expansion, head to the EBM Petrochem Stadium. Find the Black Market Vendor NPC named Herold there and you can buy this thermal katana for a whopping 110,000 credits. That is quite a lot of money, but this is also likely due to the weapon’s status as one of the new illegal weapons in the game.

Alternatively, there is a way to get this weapon for free and without the DLC, but it has its own problems. You’ll want to head to Santo Domingo to the closest fast travel point of Republic East. Head into the large electric building nearby by jumping over the gates and head downstairs inside of it.

Here’s a screenshot map showing the location:

At some point on this linear path, you’ll come across a locked door. The requirement to open this door is a whopping 20 Technical Ability, which is the max you can have for the attribute stat. This means you either have to grind levels to get this or use an attribute respec to change your Technical Ability to 20 max. Once you open the door, you can find the Errata in the furnace in the next room for free.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
