How do I make TM188 Scald in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC?

You need a handful of materials to craft TM188 Scald, which are gathered by either battling or catching certain Pokemon. Here are the materials needed to make the TM in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask:

  • 3 Poltchageist Powder.
  • 3 Slowpoke Claw.
  • 8,000 League Points (LP).

For Poltchageist Powder and Slowpoke Claw, you must defeat or capture some Poltchageist and Slowpoke. Poltchageist is found in the northern section of Mossfell Confluence in Kitakami, while you’ll find Slowpoke around Casseroya Lake back in the Paldea region.

With the required materials in your Bag, go to a TM Machine. You’ll find one just outside of the community center in Mossui Town in The Teal Mask. Interact with it, and select TM188 Scald under the Water-type move tab to craft the TM.

If Scald isn’t in the available TM list at the TM Machine, this means that you don’t have its Crafting Recipe yet. You unlock Scald’s Crafting Recipe after obtaining the TM for the first time.

Where do I find TM188 Scald in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC?

There is only one location where you can find Scald in The Teal Mask, and it’s in the Infernal Pass, north of Crystal Pool. To locate it, head out of Crystal Pool’s northern exit, where you’ll see the gold sparkles of a terrastallized Lampent.

Look slightly to the left of the Lampent, and you’ll spot a yellow Poke Ball item on the ground. Pick it up to obtain TM188 Scald in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The TM doesn’t respawn, so if you want more, you’ll have to make them at a TM Machine.
