How to Evolve Lampent into Chandelure in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Lampent is among the many Pokemon who returned in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC. The Teal Mask features the Generation 5 Ghost and Fire-type Pokemon as one of the many Pokemon you can catch and evolve in Kitakami. But how do you go about obtaining a Litwick or Lampent to evolve into Chandelure in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Where to Catch Litwick and Lampent in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To get the final evolution for this line, Chandelure, you’ll need to get a Lampent first. Oddly enough, there is only one way to “catch” Lampent in The Teal Mask without using Pokemon Home, and that is through Tera Raid battles. Lampent can occasionally show up there in 4-star ones, but if you don’t find it or like raids, you’ll need to get a Litwick first.

You can find the first stage in this line, Litwick, in the Infernal Path area of Kitakami. This ghost usually only shows up at nighttime. Once you catch it, you need then to evolve Litwick into Lampent by reaching a whopping level 41. If you’ve already beaten the base game’s main story, chances are you’ll find Litwick in the level 50s range, so this shouldn’t be too difficult.

Once you finally acquire a Lampent in The Teal Mask, it is time to finally evolve it into Chandelure. You can do this by giving it the Dusk Stone. You can sometimes find the Dusk Stone as one of the glowing Poke Ball loot items throughout Kitakami, but this is totally random and unreliable.

Instead, your best option are the other three methods in the base game. You can find a Dusk Stone for free just behind the Pokemon Gym in Montenevera in Paldea. There is also a free Dusk Stone for registering 130 or more Pokemon in the Pokedex. Finally, you can head to the auction house in Porto Marinada and sometimes find it there.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC, The Teal Mask, is available on Nintendo Switch. The Indigo Disk will release in Winter 2023.
