Here’s a List of Every Persona 5 Video Game Crossover

The Phantom Thieves from Persona 5 have snuck their way into much more than just Kamoshida’s palace. They’ve appeared in giant heavy-hitting crossover games like Super Smash Bros. and a great number of smaller mobile titles like Granblue Fantasy and Dragalia Lost. In just how many places have they shown themselves?

Dragon’s Dogma Online Phantom Thieves Event

In October and November of 2016, the Phantom Thieves infiltrated Resutania in a limited-time Persona 5 event that ran in Capcom’s action MMORPG Dragon’s Dogma Online. The “Thief Ranma” event featured limited Joker and Panther equipment to collect and a quest to play. Both outfits also had an alternate color scheme version.

Sonic Forces Joker Costume

On November 7, 2017, Sonic Forces was released. A Persona 5 costume for the player character was announced originally as a preorder bonus for the game, but it is now available to download for free. It featured Joker’s sleek tailcoat and mask.

Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight Morgana Sonic costume

Speaking of the blue blur mascot, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight was released on May 24, 2018, and included a Sonic the Hedgehog costume for Morgana.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party Phantom Thieves outfits

In 2018, a collaboration event with the Persona series began in the idol rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party. The event featured new cards of the members of Afterglow that were obtainable in the gacha. The girls were dressed in outfits inspired by Joker, Panther, Queen, Oracle, Noir, and their respective Personas.

Also, the groups Afterglow, Roselia, and Poppin’ Party all sang band covers of songs from the Persona franchise. Afterglow covered “Reach Out To The Truth” from Persona 4, and Roselia covered “Kimi no Kioku” from Persona 3. Last but not least, Poppin’ Party covered “Life Will Change” from Persona 5. The event had a re-run in 2021.

Puyopuyo!! Quest Persona Q2 crossover event

In 2018, the mobile game Puyopuyo!! Quest held a Persona Q2 crossover event. The event featured many characters from the Persona franchise, including characters from Persona 5. Also, existing characters from the Puyopuyo series were given school uniform outfits from Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

Phantasy Star Online 2 x Persona Dancing collaboration

In 2018, Phantasy Star Online 2 held a collaboration with Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight. The event brought with it a series of items from the games players could use to dress up their avatars. Special dancing animations featured in the Persona dancing games were also able to be used in the game’s lobby.

Granblue Fantasy Phantom Thieves characters

A Persona 5 crossover event ran in the mobile game Granblue Fantasy in 2018. Joker, Morgana, Skull, Panther, and Fox were obtainable characters for a limited time. The event also had a re-run in 2023.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Joker DLC

In a fantastic surprise announcement during the Game Awards 2018, Joker was announced to be the next DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The reveal trailer included new charming voice lines from the Phantom Thieves that made it sound like they had infiltrated the theater while the event was being held. They also sounded just as excited about being included in Super Smash Bros. as the crowd that was watching. A new 2D animation trailer was also made just for the reveal.

Joker’s Final Smash is inspired by the All-out Attack from Persona 5. Whenever he uses it, three other Phantom Thieves are chosen at random to appear alongside him to complete the move.

Also, did you know Xander Mobus, Joker’s English voice actor, also voiced the announcer Master Hand and Crazy Hand in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Identity V Persona 5 costumes

In 2019, the cast of Persona 5 made their horror debut in a collaboration with Identity V. A new trailer showing Joker and Morgana’s new button eyes was released. In the crossover event, players could acquire new character costumes and accessories of Joker, Fox, Panther, Skull, Crow, Noir, Oracle, and Queen from the Persona 5 cast.

Kotodaman Persona festival event

In 2019 and 2020, Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5 all collaborated with the Japanese mobile game Kotodaman. Queen, Oracle, Noir, Skull, Panther, Fox, Joker, and the new character revealed in Persona 5 Royal, Violet (Kasumi), all made an appearance alongside their respective Personas. Other characters from the game were featured too, like Kamoshida, Kaneshiro, Crow, Shadow Niijima, and Caroline and Justine.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore Itsuki Joker costume

An enhanced Nintendo Switch port of the game Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE was released on January 17, 2020, under the title Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore. The game came with a Joker crossover costume for Itsuki.

Puzzle and Dragons Persona 5 characters

In 2020, an enhanced rerun of the Persona collaboration event ran in the mobile game Puzzle and Dragons. The collaboration included collectible Persona 5 characters, including Joker, Oracle, Queen, Crow, Violet, Caroline, Justine, and Mona. During the event, players could also complete the Persona collaboration dungeon challenge.

Another Eden Persona 5 Royal crossover

In 2020, the second part of the Persona 5 Royal crossover event in the mobile game Another Eden began. The first half ran in the latter half of 2019. All of the Phantom Thieves were featured characters in the event. Violet and Skull could be acquired for free. Caroline and Justine were also featured as a boss fight to defeat.

Sword Art Online x Persona 5 Royal events

In 2020, a collaboration event with Persona 5 Royal ran in both Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag and Sword Art Online: Integral Factor, Bandai Namco’s mobile Sword Art Online games. The Phantom Thieves all fought alongside Kirito for a limited time. Players were also able to fight demons like Pixie from the franchise.

AFK Arena Persona 5 playable characters

In 2021, both Joker and Queen were featured as playable characters in a Persona 5 crossover event with the mobile game AFK Arena. Arsene and Johanna both joined alongside them.

Dragalia Lost Persona 5 Strikers event

In January 2021, a Persona 5 Strikers crossover event ran in the mobile game Dragalia Lost. A “Caged Desire” raid event was playable in celebration of the release of Persona 5 Strikers. Joker, Mona, Panther, Sophie, and Arsene were all featured. Dragalia Lost has since ended service, so the official page for the event is no longer accessible.

Love Live! Persona crossover

On October 31, 2021, KLab released a series of special ultra-rare cards in its mobile game Love Live! School Idol Festival. The cards featured the μ’s idols dressed in outfits inspired by Personas. Kotori Minami was dressed as Johanna, Maki Nishikino was dressed as Carmen, and Niko Yazawa was dressed as Milady. During this event, Morgana appeared in an in-game story. Also, “Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There” from Persona 5 was playable in Live Arena.

The members of Aqours also had Persona-inspired outfits. Each member received an SSR card in the style of Persona Q. Kanan Matsuura was dressed as Necronomicon, Ruby Kurosawa was dressed as Pandora from Persona 5 Strikers, and You Watanabe was dressed as Cendrillon from Persona 5 Royal. The collaboration also has an official website. Love Live! School Idol Festival has since ended service.

On November 2, 2021, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania was released. Morgana was added to the game as a featured crossover DLC character.

War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Phanthom Thieves Characters

In December 2021, a Persona 5 Royal crossover event began in the mobile game War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. On April 27, 2022, the event ran on global servers. Queen, Joker, and Violet were the featured characters. Queen could be acquired for free.

M ‘HOLD EM Phantom Thieves event

In December 2021, a Persona 5 Royal crossover event began in the Japanese mobile game M ‘HOLD EM. Joker, Panther, Mona, and Violet were all featured characters.

Last Cloudia Persona campaign

On May 26, 2022, a Persona 5 Royal crossover event began in the mobile game Last Cloudia. Joker, Mona, Violet, Crow, and Arsene were all featured characters. The event also featured a special collaboration campaign.

NieR Reincarnation Persona 5 Royal event

In September of 2022, a Persona 5 Royal crossover event began in the mobile game NieR Reincarnation. Joker, Queen, and Fox were featured as playable units. Fox was the only unit obtainable for free, while the others could be acquired through gacha. A special event story was also released featuring Joker and Queen.

Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile Phantom Thieves units

On November 4, 2022, a Persona 5 Royal crossover event began in the mobile game Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile. Joker, Queen, and Mona were featured as obtainable units. Skull made an appearance in the event story. Mementos was featured as a special dungeon to tackle.

Alchemy Stars playable Phantom Thieves characters

On July 14, 2022, a Persona 5 Royal collaboration event began in TrueDog’s mobile game Alchemy Stars. The event was titled “Heist Under A Moonlit Night.” Joker, Mona, Queen, Violet, and Fox were all obtainable playable characters. Mona was free as a log-in bonus.

Soul Hackers 2 Persona 5 DLC outfits

Soul Hackers 2 launched on August 25, 2022. Those who preordered the game received Persona 5 Phantom Thieves DLC outfits. Specifically, the DLC featured the outfits of Joker, Crow, Panther, and Skull.

Etrian Odyssey Persona DLC costumes

The Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection launched on June 1, 2023. Early purchases of the game in Japan included DLC Persona costumes. Joker was featured in one of those outfits and was redrawn in the Etrian Odyssey art style.

That was all of the video game crossovers with Persona 5 we could find. Since the release of Persona 5 in September 2016, Atlus has made an effort to market the game with numerous collaborations. With the release of Persona 5 Royal, that effort was pushed even further. Now that the game is multi-platform, it has been and continues to be enjoyed by millions of people. As of June 2023, Persona 5 has reached over nine million sales worldwide, and Persona 5 Royal surpassed 3.3 million units sold in January. Considering the success Persona 5 has seen, we will have to wait patiently to see what’s next in store for the Persona franchise.
