Director Toriyama said that some of the new story quests that will be included in Ever Crisis will allow players to delve deeper into character backstories from the original Final Fantasy VII. These scenarios will explore elements and settings that haven’t been explored in games before.

One example of this includes an episode focused on Tifa meeting the members of Avalanche for the first time. This is one of the episodes planned to appear in FFVII Ever Crisis. Toriyama said that thanks to the aforementioned episode, players will be able to witness Tifa’s grief at the loss of the Avalanche members from a different perspective.

This new FFVII Ever Crisis scenario is based on the novel Final Fantasy VII Remake: Trace of Two Pasts, written by Kazushige Nojima, the original FFVII scenario writer. While the story of Ever Crisis is based on the original FFVII, Toriyama mentioned that the game is also designed to further explore elements present in both FFVII Remake and FFVII Rebirth.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is now available for Android and Apple iOS mobile devices. Final Fantasy VII Remake: Trace of Two Pasts is available worldwide.
