Larian Studios has given players a way to remove and re-add co-op characters to your Baldur’s Gate 3 game with Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends. Thankfully, accessing this item is easy once you’ve added Withers to your camp. This unique item will be found at your camp and will be beside Withers at whatever location he’s skulking about. All you need to do to use Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends in Baldur’s Gate 3 is click on it.
After dismissing a co-op character, which can simply be done by speaking to them, you can head back to your camp and interact with the wardrobe. Click on the portrait of the character you would like to add back into your party and select the “Drop” option. The character will then spawn and be added to your party, so long as you have an empty slot.
Originally, players were not able to dismiss co-op characters from their games. This meant that their addition to your party would be permanent, and that once the player had left you would need to control them. They would also take up a slot for one of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s companion characters, meaning that you would only be able to take two at a time, instead of three. However, the Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 2 changed this, and has added the wardrobe as a way to resume your co-op adventures once you feel like gathering your party and venturing forth.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PC and PlayStation 5.
