One of the side quests you can stumble upon on the Mountain Pass in Baldur’s Gate 3 involves the NPC Lady Esther. This strange lady asks you to steal a Githyanki Egg for her from the nearby Crèche at Rosymorn Monastery. But should you give her the Githyanki Egg in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Should You Give the Githyanki Egg to Lady Esther in Baldur’s Gate 3?
To start, you need to visit Rosymorn Monastery and head to the Githyanki Crèche in the basement. From there, you can visit the nursery area where the final egg in the group is found. There are lots of traps here, but if you take the main path to the overseer of the nursery, it is possible to convince him to give the egg to you. Or you could just steal it without permission, which will likely require some fighting.
Regardless of how you obtain the Githyanki Egg in Baldur’s Gate 3, it is up to you to decide what you’ll do with it. Your first option is to take it back to Lady Esther, who was the person who gave you the quest in the first place.
You can opt to choose this option and I find it is one of the more complete resolutions for this quest, but she is weird. The second option you have is to leave it there, but it likely won’t have a good fate. The third is to destroy it, which I also don’t suggest you do.
Finally, you can keep it for yourself, but the game won’t let you raise the baby for whatever reason. In Act 3, you also get a second chance to give it to the Society of Brilliance, but I don’t suggest this, either.
I recommend giving it to Lady Esther or keeping it in your inventory. If you don’t give it to Lady Esther, though, you’ll have to kill her for some odd reason to complete the quest.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PC and PlayStation 5.
