Nijisanji Vtuber Maimoto Keisuke Taking an Indefinite Hiatus

Due to health issues, Nijisanji Vtuber Maimoto Keisuke announced an “indefinite hiatus” in a recent stream and on social media. His activities will halt on September 1, 2023. The announcement specifically referred to this as a hiatus, rather than a graduation.

Here’s the stream in which the Nijisanji Vtuber discussed the situation. (It is only available in Japanese.) In it, he noted that this is a health issue he’s been dealing with for a while.

And here is his official announcement. He confirmed the day his hiatus will start and thanked people for their support.

This comes after his first appearance on the Nijiban Nijisanji Vtuber talk show on August 13, 2023 and his participation in the company’s Koshien Summer this month. However, we did have some idea something was going on. Back on August 5, 2023, he confirmed he wouldn’t participate in NIJIFes 2023. At the time, he said he’d have more news later. That event will be held in Japan between December 23-24, 2023.

Maimoto Keisuke debuted back in August 2018. He joined the company with fellow Nijisanji Seeds Amemori Sayo, Asuka Hina, Harusaki Air, Kanda Shoichi, and Takamiya Rion.

The hiatus for Nijisanji Vtuber Maimoto Keisuke will begin on September 1, 2023.
