In the Rune Factory 3 Special Privera Forest, a set of four statues needs to be moved to solve a puzzle. However, the layout may make the solution a little unclear. Once you know what the riddle is referring to, it’s easy to open the doors to the lower level.
How to solve the Rune Factory 3 Special Privera Forest statue puzzle
When you head into Privera Forest, you’ll see three paths to the east. The ones you’re concerned with are the northern and southern ones. At the end of each route is a pair of statues that can be rotated. In short, to solve the Privera Forest statue puzzle and face the first Rune Factory 3 Special boss, you need to make them face the ones on the other path. This is what the clue “when we finally see eye to eye, the locked door shall open” means.
For the northern path, this means making both statues face south. For the monster/bear one, you’ll need to see all the polka dots on it. With the one that has a human face, that face needs to be fully visible. I recommend beating all monsters and portals here first, so you can complete the task undisturbed. Once you turn them to the proper position, head to the southern path.
Once you’re with the two statues to the south, first defeat the enemies and portals. It makes turning the two figures much easier. Once that’s done, rotate both so you see the bare, flat back of the bear/monster and you can only see the complete back of the human’s head. You’ll hear a click, and the staircase will open where the clue about the puzzle appeared.
Here’s how both of the statues should look in-game to unlock the entrances:
There will actually be both doors to the north and south that open. However, both lead to (temporary) dead ends due to broken bridges. You’ll need to go talk to Daria, who lives in the cottage just outside the Privera Forest entrance, to get them fixed and proceed.
Rune Factory 3 Special is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC.
