Genshin Impact Fontaine Story Involves a Prophecy and a Trial

The 4.0 Genshin Impact story will see the Traveler head to Fontaine to learn about a prophecy, take part in a trial, and reunite with Childe. The start of the Special Program on on August 4, 2023 offered a brief overview of things. It also offered a chance to see more Fontaine characters from “The Final Feast” trailer.

It seems a critical part of the Fontaine story in Genshin Impact will involve one of Lyney’s performances going wrong. During the first trailer, we saw him putting on one of his shows, with his sister Lynette inside of a box of water. It seems like she’s panicking, and then it shatters. There’s some commotion, as though if that was supposed to happen like that. The Traveler and Paimon are watching as that happens. It seems immediately after, they’re fighting “guardmechs” alongside Navia, who seems to be protecting the Traveler and Paimon.

All this will come up in Archon Quest Chapter IV. The first parts are Act I “Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur” and “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason.” It covers Lyney and Lynette’s eventful first performance on the Opera Epiclese trial stage.

Neuvillette shows up suggesting a trial must be held after these events. However, he’s also faced by Childe, who is returning to voice his disapproval of the trial system and treatment of the people.

However, there are other mysteries brought up before this when going over the Fontaine story in Genshin Impact. Apparently, there’s a prophecy in Fontaine that suggests everyone who lives there will dissolve into the waters surrounding it. When that happens, the Hydro Archon will be the only person to survive it. There’s also something called an Aura Trace in the kingdom, which is somehow conscious.

The presentation also confirmed the Hydro Archon Furina, Charlotte, and Clorinde will appear during the initial Archon Quests.

Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The 4.0 update will arrive in August 2023.
