One of the most revolutionary features in Final Fantasy XIV is new game plus. Forgot what happened in one expansion or want to refresh your mind before a new expansion comes out? New game plus can help.

What you want to do is open up the main menu and scroll to the Duty tab. Under there, you’ll find the New Game Plus section. Here you’ll see a list of all the different chapters you can pick. You can then choose where you want to start and restart the story.

You should note that there are some quirks about New Game Plus. You can switch it off at any point and go back to the core game. In addition, this is solely there for you to replay story quests and battles. It is not for leveling up alt job classes. You do not get any experience, items, or Gil while participating in this mode.

Players have the option to pick and choose where they want to engage in the New Game Plus mode. For instance, if you only want to replay the brilliant Shadowbringers expansion, you can do that without creating a new character and leveling them all up again.

Here are all of the various chapters that New Game Plus is currently divided up between:

  • A Realm Reborn Parts 1-6 (you can start wherever you want)
  • Heavensward Parts 1-4
  • Stormblood Parts 1-4
  • Shadowbringers Parts 1-4
  • Endwalker Parts 1-2
  • Raids
  • Alliance Raids
  • Trials
  • Notable side quests
  • Job quests (Disciples of War, Magic, Land, and Hand)
  • Role quests

This is divided up quite well between the chapters. So, even if you want something super specific like to replay all of the Alchemist crafting job quests for only A Realm Reborn, you can certainly do that.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
