If you’re thinking about jumping into Final Fantasy XIV for the first time or you’ve finished the free trial, you may be wondering which version of the game to buy. Here’s what you need to know about the FFXIV Complete Edition. It could be a great place to start, if you already tested out the free trial.
What’s included in the FFXIV Complete Edition?
As the name implies, the FFXIV Complete Edition is the complete package and includes the base game of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and the following four expansions:
- Heavensward
- Stormblood
- Shadowbringers
- Endwalker
Note that it doesn’t contain the upcoming fifth Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Dawntrail, which is set for a Summer 2024 release. So you’ll need to purchase it separately once pre-orders go live or it is released.
If you’re a newcomer to Final Fantasy XIV, the FFXIV Complete Edition also comes with 30 days of subscription time for free. After it expires, you’ll need to pay for a monthly subscription by either using a Game Time Card or subscribing through the Mog Station.
The FFXIV Complete Edition retails for $59.99 on the PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. But I’d recommend waiting for a sale if you can, as the price is often slashed by 50% every few weeks, netting you a huge saving.
Final Fantasy XIV is available to play now on the PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 and is coming to Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. A paid subscription is required.
