Capcom released a three-month consolidated business report that suggests the company is on track for an eleventh year of operating profit. Capcom attributed some of the success to the release of flagship titles like Street Fighter 6, as well as sales of older titles made available digitally.

The report covers the three month period ending June 30, 2023 and showed that the company’s net sales reached ¥43,858 million, a 73.8% increase from the same period last year. Operating Income and Ordinary Income also nearly doubled from last year, reaching ¥24,047 and ¥25,865 million yen respectively. Capcom’s Digital Contents business, the part that focuses on games specifically, reported 13.5 million units sold, up from 11.7 million in 2022. As well as video game sales, the company also cited improved operations in its Arcade operations and Amusement Equipments business as a significant contributor to its success. As a result, Earnings per share increased from ¥42.19 million in 2022 to ¥86.86 million in 2023.

Capcom’s games division has seen it’s share of highs and lows this year, from the further delay of sci-fi game Pragmata to Street Fighter 6 passing 2 million units sold worldwide.  Earlier this month, the company also commented on the future of its other franchises like Sengoku Basara and Onimusha.

Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 is immediately available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
