Tekken 8 Producer Katsuhiro Harada brought up the possibility of guest characters in the game today. However, it seems we’ll need to wait a while before we hear if any could appear. When asked how many might appear, Harada noted the priority is the “early” roster. He also said, “Even if we think about guest characters, it will be after the release.”
Here’s Harada’s full statement about potential Tekken 8 guest characters. On July 23, 2023, he also said “We plan to increase the number of Rosters for release (other characters are currently in development).”
We do not plan to develop guest characters first.
First of all, we are concentrating on “having more early Roasters” than other fighting game titles(In other words, increase the initial number of default characters).

As a reminder, Tekken 7 featured a number of guest characters, so that could happen in 8 as well. Noctis from Final Fantasy XV, Akuma from Street Fighter, Geese from Fatal Fury and KOF, and Negan from The Walking Dead showed up.
Tekken 8 will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The PS5 Closed Network Test will run until July 24, 2023. The Tekken 8 PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC Closed Network Test will be held July 28-31, 2023.
