The Tekken 8 Closed Network Test is now live for the PS5, and Producer Katsuhiro Harada took to Twitter to discuss it, its matching, and cross-play on Twitter. After people contacted him with positive comments about the experience and other feedback, he went over some additional plans. For example, he noted that the team is working on fixing issues where matching might be not be prompt. He also noted PC specs and other issues could affect cross-play online.
First, here’s Harada’s comment on Tekken 8’s overall matching and sync speed while loading up matches during the Closed Network Test. This is also when he mentioned the team is still working on ensuring it is prompt and mentioned PC specs can affect matching.
Yes, the loading and sync response after matching is very fast.
However, there are cases where the matching itself takes a long time, so we have started to fix it. Thank you for your cooperation.

He also noted that this is a Closed Network Test and issues could come up, especially once the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC phase begins on July 28, 2023.

Harada also joked about the release date for Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The PS5 Closed Network Test will run until July 24, 2023. The Tekken 8 PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC Closed Network Test will be held July 28-31, 2023.
