The Behemoth King in Final Fantasy XVI is one of those Notorious Marks you don’t really need to “hunt” for, as the Masterless Marauder is distinctive. Once you reach the endgame, as in the next mainline quest in your docket is “Back to Their Origin,” it should start showing up on the Hunt Board. However, if you’re roaming the Kingdom of Waloed map, you could just happen upon it without warning. Which could be scary, as this is an S-rank, level 47 enemy that I still felt could have taken me down even though I was at level 46.
How to find the Masterless Marauder Behemoth King in Final Fantasy XVI
So once you see the Final Fantasy XVI bulletin for this “Masterless Marauder” on the board, you’ll see there’s no set location for it. It will just note “???” as a spot. However, the description will mention the “Waloeder Army.” That’s your hint to head there. Picking the Vidargraes entrance will basically set you in the perfect spot to find the Behemoth King in Final Fantasy XVI, and I indicated where on the screenshot of the map below.
You’ll honestly probably see it even from a distance. This is a big boy. He is also an angry boy with devastating attacks. His normals hit hard. However, he will also frequently cast AOE attacks. When I began my fight, he used Four Horsemen at the very start. This brings up areas where devastation will rain down. Some other choice attacks include Maelstrom, which could make it difficult to see, and the comet summoning Reign of Fire. Once he got below 1/3 health in my might, he used Apocalypse, which basically meant fire and devastation everywhere. It was incredibly difficult to dodge.
If you can survive it all, you will earn 20,000 EXP, 200 AP, 20,000 gil, 55 renown, a Behemoth Shackle, and a piece of Orichalcum.
Final Fantasy XVI is available for the PlayStation 5. A demo is out now as well. There is a six-month exclusivity period.
