Gotaro Tsunashima is the Japanese voice actor for Barnabas in Final Fantasy XVI. He also played Masuda in the Keishicho Shinri Sosakan Asuka movies. In English, Barnabas is voiced by David Menkin. He’s appeared in Final Fantasy games before, as he was Magnus in the FFXIV Shadowbringers expansion. He also played Malos in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and a number of roles in various Lego games like Ghost Rider in Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 and Luke Skywalker in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
With the Barnabas (and Odin) Final Fantasy XVI trailer, we’re pretty much covered for Dominants and Eikons. Leading up to launch, we’ve already seen Clive, Joshua, Jill, Ramuh, Benedikta, Hugo, and Dion. Now that many major characters appeared, it is unknown if this video series will continue.
Final Fantasy XVI will be available for the PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023. There is a six-month exclusivity period.
