How to Get Through the Lost Woods in Tears of the Kingdom

The Lost Woods returns in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, in the same place as in 2017’s Breath of the Wild, but with a unique twist this time around. If you arrive here, you’ll soon find that there is an The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time-style puzzle where you go pretty much anywhere in the unbelievably dense fog and it’ll send you right back to the start. Thankfully, there is a surprising way through the Lost Woods.

Where to Enter the Lost Woods in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To get through the Lost Woods in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll need to go under the location. With the addition of the massive Depths area in this game, the entire map of Hyrule is reflected underground, including the Lost Woods, where the Master Sword used to be.

To do this, head to the Minshi Woods Chasm southeast of the Korok Forest. From there, dive in and head northwest until you reach the Rikonasum Lightroot. Alternatively, you can just mark where the middle of the Lost Woods is on the map and head to that spot.

Here, you’ll find a small set of stairs that lead to a platform with a stone slab above you. Ascend into that slab and you’ll arrive in the Korok Grove, right in the middle of the Lost Woods.

How to Fix the Great Deku Tree’s Problem

Getting through the Lost Woods in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom isn’t the end of the story, though. Once you arrive here, you’ll see a bunch of frozen Koroks and the Great Deku Tree not looking so hot. You can solve its issues by jumping through the chasm inside of the tree.

When you land, you’ll find five Gloom hands attacking you all at once. I recommend attaching bomb flowers to your arrows and shooting in the middle of them to quickly take them all out simultaneously or else they’ll respawn. Once you defeat them, Phantom Ganon will appear.

You’ll want to master blocking and flurry attacks, or else you’ll need some help from the Sage companions and a whole lot more bomb flowers to win. After you take out Phantom Ganon, you can go back up to the Great Deku Tree for life to return to normal there in the Lost Woods.
