Here Are the Devolver Digital Showcase 2023 Games

Indie publisher Devolver Digital held its annual showcase of new games as part of Summer Game Fest 2023. As usual, it was an elaborate affair that not only announced games, but also featured skits and bizarre lore.

This year, the showcase was presented as the return of Volvy, the company’s beloved mascot character from the 1990s (despite Devolver Digital forming in 2009). Kicking off with a mockumentary about the “returning” character, the show continued with the reveal of Volv-E, a robot mascot. As always, this was meant as satire on current trends within the games industry. AI technology was the major target this year, with each game announcement presented as Volv-E generating games based on prompts. (It didn’t end well.)

Here are all the games that appeared:

  • The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood (PC, Nintendo Switch) – 2023
  • Sludge Life 2 (PC) – June 27, 2023 (Demo out now on Steam)
  • Bleak Sword DX (PC, Nintendo Switch) – Out now
  • KarmaZoo (PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S) – TBA
  • Hellboy: Web of Wyrd (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) – TBA

  • Wizard With a Gun (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S) – TBA (Demo out now on Steam)
  • The Talos Principle 2 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S) – 2023

In addition, Devolver Digital released a new bundle of its games on Steam to celebrate. The bundle, The Return of Volvy, offers twelves games such as Death’s Door, Pikuniku and Cult of the Lamb for a total discount of 63%. All these games had been featured during the Devolver Direct with added Volvy.

The Devolver Direct was part of the Summer Game Fest program. More showcases will be happening throughout June.
