At the September 2023 PlayStation Showcase, Square Enix confirmed the release date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the awaited sequel to FFVII Remake, and showed a new gameplay and story trailer. FFVII Rebirth will release exclusively for the PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. It will be exclusive to the console until May 29, 2024. As a reminder, it is a two-disc game. The new trailer showed some new and returning characters, as well as a better look at some of the locations that players will be able to explore outside of Midgar.

FFVII Rebirth was originally announced during the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration held on June 16, 2022. Rebirth will be the second part in the trilogy project.
The reveal trailer for FFVII Rebirth showed a glimpse at the remake’s version of the Cloud and Sephiroth flashback sequence in Nibelheim. It also highlighted a few new lines of dialogue between Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa discussing their future. In addition, the trailer focused heavily on Zack Fair and the former SOLDIER’s new fate in the remake continuity.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second part in the FFVII Remake trilogy. It is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5, and it will release in February 29, 2024. After May 29, 2024, the game might appear on other platforms.
