Following the release of patch 6.4 for Final Fantasy XIV, some players noticed an audio bug keeping sound from working in the game. Square Enix stepped in on Twitter to note it is aware of the issue. However, there’s no word yet on when a fix could appear.
Here’s Square Enix’s announcement regarding the patch 6.4 bug reports of the audio not working in Final Fantasy XIV.
Following the release of Patch 6.4, we received many reports of audio not playing in the Windows version of the game. We are currently investigating the issue and will provide an update as soon as we have further information.

The Japanese Twitter account also acknowledged the issue. It also encouraged those suffering from the Final Fantasy XIV audio bug file a request with support to let the company know it isn’t working after 6.4.
As a major numbered patch, the 6.4 update added a number of new features to the game. Among them were new story quests, new side quests, and The Voidcast Dais Trial that features Golbez. There are also a number of new items to earn and Island Sanctuary updates.
Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available on PC, PS4, and PS5, and patch 6.4 is available now.
