Last fiscal year, Capcom forecasted three million units of Dead Rising 2 before April 2011.

While Dead Rising 2 did well, Capcom’s overall profits took a tumble. For the period between April – September 2010, Capcom earned 3,942 million yen ($48) in operating income, a 23% drop compared to last year. The publisher cited the "substantial  underperformance" of Lost Planet 2 and the appreciation of the yen as reasons for the operating profit plunge.

Capcom planned on selling 2.2 million copies of Lost Planet 2 worldwide.
