Sony’s April 2023 State of Play presentation is here to offer a more intensive look at Final Fantasy XVI gameplay. This is one of the longer looks at the latest installment in the series. People will get to spend 20 minutes learning more about the title and its new gameplay direction. Producer Naoki Yoshida acted as a “host” for the event, which featured all new footage.
You can watch the Final Fantasy XVI State of Play presentation as it happens below, and it will also remain after the showcase is live. It spends 20 minutes looking at Clive’s travels through Valisthea. This also means opportunities to see some of the other major characters throughout the game and watch combat footage.
This is the second major showcase of Final Fantasy XVI in the last few weeks. Square Enix hosted a PAX East 2023 panel for the game with Producer Naoki Yoshida. However, the company’s also been showing smaller clips of footage on social media. Many of these showed Clive or Ifrit facing monsters or Eikons.
Final Fantasy XVI will come to the PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023, and it went “gold” on March 31, 2023. There will be a six-month exclusivity period for it. While no additional platforms have been confirmed, Yoshida did note the team expressed interest in a PC version of the game.
