Studio Khara announced the release of Project Shin Evangelion, a book that delves into the process of creating and producing the movie Evangelion 3.0+1.0, from a business perspective. Project Shin Evangelion will cost 1,760 JPY (or about $13 USD). It will release in late May 2023, and it is available now for pre-order from select Japanese retailers and Amazon Japan. The Project Shin Evangelion book includes a detailed report summing up the production status of the movie, including goals, process, expenses, duration, and initial pre-visualization results. It also includes an interview with General Director Hideaki Anno, offering a project summary. There are also project evaluation interviews with nine other creatives involved in the film, including Kazuya Tsurumaki and Illustrator Masahiro Maeda. In addition, the book offers credits for all members of the staff involved in the creation of Evangelion 3.0+1.0.
Formally titled Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, the movie is the fourth and last one in the Rebuild of Evangelion series. It released in Japan on March 8, 2021, and its production and release was affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The details included in the book were announced on March 8, 2023, the same day that the Evangelion 3.0+1.11 Blu-ray released.
