Nippon Ichi Software is the developer behind the mysterious new “Superpowers x School RPG,” officially titled Xicatrice. The company released an announcement trailer detailing its cast of characters, along with new details about the story, gameplay elements, and screenshots. It will release in Japan on June 29, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5. [Thanks, Denfaminico Gamer!]
In Xicatrice, the player assumes the role of a teacher at a Japanese high school in a world where supernatural powers exist. As a teacher, the player is the leader of the RAUR 302nd Squad (Reserve Anti-abnormal Unusual-talent Team). They must offer guidance and support to the cast of seven protagonists with superpowers and help them overcome their emotional scars.
The player is a former member of the police force that lost their ability to use superpowers. The story starts when they are assigned as the head teacher to a class of superpowered teenagers. You can check out the full announcement trailer below.
Xicatrice is a turn-based RPG that includes life-sim elements, such as a class schedule for your students and a variety of activities for your students to bond and enhance their abilities.

The retail edition will cost 7,678 JPY (~$56 USD). The Limited Edition is available from the Nippon1 online store, and it includes the soundtrack and a deluxe booklet. This edition will cost 11,968 JPY (~$88 USD).
