HoYoVerse is once again celebrating the Lantern Rite in Genshin Impact. A Liyue festival meant to coincide with the real-life Chinese New Year’s , this year’s Genshin Impact 3.4 Lantern Rite event will form the core of the next update to the game. This year the Genshin Impact 3.4 Lantern Rite will involve a musical concert, and many characters from Liyue (and beyond) will take part in the festivities.
Check out the Lantern Rite trailer, titled The Exquisite Night Chimes, below.
The trailer teases a visit from Mondstadt bard Venti, who is attracted to Liyue by this year’s musical emphasis. Meanwhile, Hu Tao hosts a dinner for the Traveler, Paimon, Xiao, Xiangling, Xingqiu, Chongyun, and Zhongli. Other characters, like Baizhu, Qiqi, Xiao, Shenhe, and Ganyu are seen letting lanterns loose to honor the departed. The trailer teased planned events for the 3.4 update, including a minigame based on Chinese shadow puppetry, too, in addition to other activities not directly related to the Lantern Rite.
HoYoVerse also promoted the return of the Fortuitous Invitation giveaway. Part of the Lantern Rite, the Fortuitous Invitation allows players to select a 4-Star Liyue character of their choice to add to their roster. This year’s promo includes the following characters, as well as the newest Liyue resident, Yaoyao.
- Beidou
- Chongyun
- Ningguang
- Xiangling
- Xinyan
- Xingqiu
- Yanfei
- Yun Jin
- Yaoyao
