Minecraft Blankets and Hugging Pillows Will Appear in Japan

Minecraft-themed pillows and blankets will appear in Japan. Fashion Center Shimamura has announced that it will sell the aforementioned items, which also include hugging pillows of Alex, Steve, and the Zombie from Minecraft. The shop will start selling the items exclusively on its web store on October 22, 2022.

The Minecraft hugging pillows will replicate the characters’ appearances in the original game. The pillows will be around 60 cm (~23.6 inches) tall with 22 cm (~8.66 inches) in the other two dimensions. Each item will be available at 2,970 yen (~$20).

Other than hugging pillows, the store will also sell bolsters sized 20 x 90 cm (~7.9 x 35 in) decorated with Minecraft items and creatures for 1,969 yen each. Shimamura will also sell half-sized blankets at 100 x 140 cm (~39 x 55 in) with designs of Polar Bears, Axolotls, the Creeper, and the Ender Dragon for 1,419 yen each.

The globally popular game Minecraft is also well-known in Japan. Children readers of the Japanese manga magazine CoroCoro voted for Minecraft among their top ten liked game series in 2020. Characters from the game also made their way into the DLC lineup of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The latest version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is available on PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 with cross-play support. The PlayStation versions also support the original PlayStation VR device.
