Nihon Falcom has released a major free update for The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II – Crimson Sin that adds Fie “Sylphid” Claussell and Zin “The Immovable” Vathek as playable characters. The Version 1.10 update also adds more endgame content and a quality-of-life-improving skip option.
Fie and Zin are recurring series characters who made their respective debuts in the Trails of Cold Steel and Trails in the Sky series. Both of them also appeared in the first Kuro no Kiseki title as they visit Calvard to reinforce the Bracer Guild branch in the republic. However, Falcom marked their appearances as sub-characters, which meant they were not part of the main party roster.
The promotions of Fie and Zin to playable characters mean that the Kuro no Kiseki II player can include both of them in the main party on more occasions. This update also adds new layers to the Märchengarten dungeon, starting from the 10th layer. This segment will also have new story episodes starring both Fie and Zin.
Besides the aforementioned additions, this update lets the player upgrade the strongest weapon for each character further beyond the initial limits. It also has a new option to let them skip the EX Chain cutscenes.
Version 1.10 is also the first Kuro no Kiseki II update to add new content. Falcom had released several smaller updates between this version and the game’s launch in Japan on September 29, 2022. However, those updates mostly focused on bug fixes.
The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II – Crimson Sin is available for PlayStation 5 and 4 in Japan.
