Back in June 2022, Atlus announced that it would port P3P, P4G, and P5R onto modern consoles. Persona 5 Royal’s PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC versions will launch on October 21, 2022. Trailers for the ports have not made clear if they will be completely faithful or if they will restore some aspects of the original PS2 games that the portable versions cut. For example, in Persona 3, you could explore Iwatodai freely, while P3P made it so you could only choose locations from a menu.
Persona 3 Portable originally came out in 2009 and allowed players to choose a female protagonist. This altered Orpheus and social link stories, as well as offering the choice of a male Velvet Room attendant. P3P did not include “The Answer.” Persona 4 Golden first debuted in 2011 and a Windows PC port of it appeared in 2020. It included social links for Adachi and new character Marie, and added new voice lines and anime cutscenes.
Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will come out on the Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Windows PC on January 19, 2023.
