The Digimon Survive gameplay trailer begins by showing off conversation choices and how those can alter affinity or karma. In one segment, Takuma encounters a Fangmon. He’s wondering if they are going to die. He has three options to choose from there. He can stand up, shout, or offer encouragement. The segment shows him choosing to stand up, which influences “moral.” In another section, Takuma is talking with Aoi. The two are working out what route to take. By checking with her, the affinity between the two of them goes up to improve their relationship.

In another segment, it shows how conversations in battle can affect the situation in Digimon Survive. If you talk with an ally, it can do things like increase movement and boost stats. It also offers a peek at an Etemon enemy conversation. Takuma has four possible responses. Choosing “Yes, pretty please!” allows him to make Etemon his friend or get items from the character.

Digimon Survive will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on July 29, 2022.
