Bandai Namco shared a One Piece Odyssey Dev Diary starring Producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki. This time, the focus is to go over its development. Things begin with Tsuzuki discussing the initial reception to the announcement. After that, he mentioned that development began five years ago when One Piece Warriors 4 was being promoted. Once the framework was set, Eiichiro Oda was asked to contribute character designs. Oda’s message noted he’d consulted and provided art for it about three years ago. Tsuzuki also noted scenario production began during the manga’s Whole Cake Island arc.

Here’s the full One Piece Odyssey Dev Diary. It begins with an introduction, before moving onto character design, the development approach, and its features. At the 5:40 mark, details about the RPG gameplay elements in One Piece Odyssey show up.

In case someone missed it, the last update went over one of the original characters. People will meet Lim in the game.

One Piece Odyssey will come to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2022.
