The Twitter account for Granblue Fantasy: Relink announced that the game will be delayed until 2023. Developer Yuito Kimura posted an apology notice, as well as an explanation for the delay, on the game’s official website. Additionally, Cygames was to release new information on the game in June 2022, but it will now do so in December 2022 instead.
According to the notice, the reason behind the Granblue Fantasy: Relink delay is to polish up the gameplay. Kimura also states that the novel coronavirus pushed back the schedule and is the main reason behind the delay. In terms of how much progress there is, the game’s primary assets (such as audio, music, and main story set pieces) are complete. The team’s remaining tasks include debugging and improving the graphics and gameplay experience.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink will be a console action-RPG spin-off of Granblue Fantasy. In late 2021, Cygames released a teaser trailer for it, which showed off how the gameplay and cutscenes will look. You will be able to play as main characters such as Rackam and Katalina. In addition, since the game shows both Gran and Djeeta, it is likely that you will be able to choose the gender of the player avatar.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is in the final stages of development and will come out sometime in 2023. More information will appear in December 2022. It will come out on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC. Granblue Fantasy is available on PC and mobile devices, and the fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus is available on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
